Most women would agree, a vagina is a troublesome area because a lot of things can go wrong and threaten the quality of their sex life as well as their overall health.

1. Baking soda

The hygiene benefits of baking soda has been known and popularized in every household. It is usually used to restore the balanced the level of pH in the body, which assists in dissipating vaginal odor.

How to use: You can simply prepare a bath with a half cup of baking soda and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Next, gently and thoroughly pat dry the body, especially your vagina with a clean towel before wearing clothes.

2. Tea tree oil

Its strong mint-like odor is just perfect to hide that unpleasant odor from your vagina. Tea tree oil’s powerful antiseptic and antifungal properties also relief discomfort and control the overgrowth of bacteria causing vaginal odor.

How to use: You can mix 5 drops of tea tree oil with one cup of water and use this solution to cleanse your vagina daily for a few days. Remember to pat dry as well.

3. Good vaginal hygiene

A good hygiene is ultimately important if you want to get rid of vaginal odor, because you might accidentally turn your vagina into a favorable environment for bacteria to develop, thus worsening the smell.

What to do: Keep your vagina clean and dry all the time. You can spare one or two towels to serve this purpose only. Wear loose clothing and cotton underwear and when you wash your undergarments, make sure they have access to sunlight. And last but not least, say no to douching because you can wash up good bacteria that help prevent infection.

4. Apple cider vinegar

This versatile ingredient proves effective in dissipating vaginal odor. Its acidic nature is able to stabilize the pH level of the vagina and fight off toxins.

How to use: Add 3 cups of apple cider vinegar to your bath tub and soak yourself for 15 to 20 minutes.

5. Probiotics

Probiotics can be found abundantly in fermented vegetables and yogurt. More than keeping your gut healthy, probiotics are packed with lactobacillus  – the good type of bacteria in your vagina, thus restrain the development of harmful bacteria causing vaginal odor

How to use: Eat kimchi, yogurt, pickled and other fermented vegetables in a daily basis

6. Garlic

Your mucous vaginal membranes can only function properly when they are well-hydrated. So make sure you drink lots of water, up to 2.5 liter per day to prevent foul odor caused by vaginal dryness.

8. Sea Salt and White vinegar

White vinegar does not appear often in home remedy list, but this time it deserves a spot. White vinegar is able to break down odor proteins and salt makes it inhabitable for bacteria to thrive. A warm bath with white vinegar and salt can dissipate the foul smell in vagina in no time.

9. Fenugreek

Fenugreek is another effective remedy to get rid of vaginal odor, it is famous for its ability to balance the pH level in the vagina as well as the level of hormone in the body, thus keeping vagina healthy and odor-free from inside.

How to use: Fenugreek should be consumed orally only. You can add a tablespoon of fenugreek powder to a cup of yogurt.

10. Guava leaves

Guava health benefits, including its leaves are incredible. Guava leaves are good sources of antibacterial properties and antioxidants. Washing your vagina with guava leaves will control the growth of harmful bacteria and disinfect the vagina from foul smell.

How to use: Boil a handful of 10-12 guava leaves in 1 liter of water for 5 minutes. Wait until the solution cool down and use the liquid to cleanse your vagina. Perform daily for a week.
