1. Lemon juice and olive oil

Lemon contains citric acid that helps to break down calcium-based kidney stones and also stops further growth. Lemon juice combined with olive oil is traditionally used as a home remedy to remove gallbladder stones but can be used to treat kidney stones as well.

You need to take four tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and add an equal amount of olive oil to it. Drink this mixture followed by plenty of water.

Do this two to three times a day, up to three days.

This remedy might not be suitable for passing large kidney stones. Consult a doctor before taking this remedy.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar has an alkalinizing effect on blood and urine. It helps to dissolve kidney stones.

You need to take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and mix with one teaspoon of honey in one cup of warm water. Drink it 2-3 times a day.

3. Pomegranate

The pomegranate seeds and juice have astringent properties that help in the treatment of kidney stones. Eat one whole pomegranate or drink one glass fresh pomegranate juice daily. You can have pomegranate in your fruit salad also.

You can also make a paste of pomegranate seeds and consume this paste along with a cup of horse gram soup daily for one time. This remedy will help dissolve the stones.

4. Nettle leaf

It is a great remedy for filtering out kidney stones. Nettle leaf helps to maintain the flow of water through the kidneys and bladder, promoting smooth urination. Nettle leaf helps in preventing of crystals from forming into stones. It also keeps away bacteria. Consuming nettle tea will also enhance the benefits of water by acting as a natural diuretic.

Add 2 tablespoon of nettle leaf to a cup of hot water and leave for 10 minutes. Strain and drink 2-3 cups of water for several weeks.

5. Holy Basil

Basil is a great tonic for the kidneys and is also good for the overall health of organs. It can also help in removal of stones from the urinary tract.

Mix one teaspoon of basil juice with honey. Drink daily in the morning for five to six months. You can have another option – drink basil tea. Add five to six basil leaves in boiling water for 10 minutes. Let it cool and add some honey if you want and drink.

But watermelon is also great in treating kidney stones composed of calcium and magnesium, phosphates and carbonates. The potassium content in watermelon is essential for maintaining healthy kidneys. It helps to regulate and maintain the levels of acid in urine. Moreover, watermelon also contains water in high concentrations, which helps in flushing out stones from the kidneys. Eating watermelon regularly can help greatly in flushing out your toxins and preventing kidney stones.

7. Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass juice is highly effective remedy in treating kidney stones and other kidney diseases in a natural manner. It is a great source of magnesium, amino acids, potassium, iron, and B vitamins.

Mix a glass of wheatgrass juice with one teaspoon each of lemon juice and juice extracted from basil leaves. Drink it 2-3 times a day.

8. Bran flakes

Whole grain-rich diets contain good amounts of vitamins, minerals, and fiber due to which they have been associated with a reduction of kidney stones. Moreover, the insoluble fiber found in wheat helps in reducing calcium in the urine. It functions by combining with calcium in the intestines, thus eliminating it through the stool.   4. Please use a mesh strainer while urinating to trap the stones. This will help your doctor to analyze to know the causes this stone formation.
  5. Reduce your sodium intake, which is your table salt, not more than 2 grams per day.
  6. Keep a check on your urine if it is clear and not concentrated. Do not hold your urines, let it pass. It’s recommended to pass 2.5 liters of urine every day.
